Over the past several years, BUMBA has developed a queen rearing and nuc production program for the continuing support of our members.
Nucs are "nuclear colonies," 3-5 frames of bees and brood which beekeepers can use to begin a strong, healthy colony. Local nucs, combined with local queens, are the building blocks of creating a sustainable beekeeping program for our region. Read more

BUMBA currently holds 11 beekeeping educational programs throughout Prince Georges County. If you would like to learn more about beekeeping and the environment in general, you are welcome to attend any of these educational seminars free of charge.
